Our Passion

When we first set out to make a healthier, stronger and good value scented candle for ourselves we had no idea of the adventure we were about to experience, the challenges we would face and had to overcome.

The first thing we had to work out was that most of the candles available use synthetic scents, which we wanted to avoid, due to the soot and fumes produced when burning them. We use pure natural oils and natural scents in our candles, ensuring they are 100% natural, and vegan friendly.

Soy wax burns about 20°c cooler than paraffin wax. Because soy wax burns cooler and needs more expertise to ensure a great fragrance, and this is one reason most soy candles on the market are not using 100% soy, and still contain nasty paraffin or similar.

We wanted to enjoy a great fragrance but are also health-conscious, most soy candle companies will use a blend of paraffin and soy; then they can legally call it a “Soy Candle.” This blend enables the wax to burn at a higher temperature and enhances the scent-throw compared to 100% soy wax. However, for health and environmental reasons we did not want to use any paraffin/petroleum wax.

Our final dilemma was that all waxes have a maximum capacity to absorb or hold fragrance (scent load capacity). If you attempt to add more fragrance than what a wax can hold it will either separate from the wax or the candle will not burn properly. Most candle manufacturers use only the standard scent load capacity, creating average or poor scented candles.

We transformed our kitchen into a mini candle/science laboratory and began our journey. What follows is the result of a family team, with a passion for healthy living, seeking a solution to the scented candle dilemma.

Our Process

Our manufacturing process enables us to get our soy wax to absorb a greater amount of fragrance.
Most candle manufacturers will add fragrance when the wax is too hot. This will cause the fragrance to start evaporating during the manufacturing process.

The result is that Cozy Glow Soy Candles are so strong and so realistic you will think you have the real thing! Whether it’s Fresh Baked Bread or a ripe juicy Peach, you’ll swear that somebody has just been baking!
