Low Carbon Dorset is a five-year programme of activities to help stimulate growth in Dorset’s low carbon economy and reduce Dorset county’s footprint.
Low Carbon Dorset provides FREE technical advice and financial support to local Business, Community and Public Sector organisations to deliver carbon reduction projects in Dorset.
Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Low Carbon Dorset helps businesses, community, and public sector organisations in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole.
The programme is run by the Dorset Council (DC) and the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It aims to help improve your energy efficiency, increase the use of renewable energy, and aid the development of new low carbon products.
This free support is delivered through:
- FREE Technical advice – On-site technical support to explore your low carbon project ideas and opportunities (up to 2 days). Followed by ongoing support to get your project off the ground.
- FREE Detailed Energy Survey– if required, a FREE detailed energy audit of your operations will be provided.
- FREE Low carbon workshops – held across Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to provide information on support available, insights into low carbon technologies, advice on carbon reduction, and demonstration events at successful projects.
- Face-to-face events have been on hold during the pandemic – but as restrictions lift, workshops and demonstration events hopefully will be reinstated. Keep an eye on the Workshop & Events page to find out about future events.
- Low Carbon Grants – Low Carbon Dorset has nearly allocated all their grant pot – but would still like to hear from businesses, community groups and public sector organisations looking for help with their low carbon projects, to explore how else Low Carbon Dorset can help you and keep you updated if new funds become available.
- Grants have been available to help organisations deliver renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. Typically, these grants have covered up to 40% of project costs depending on the type of project and organisation applying.
Low Carbon Dorset support will be available until the end of December 2022.
