The West Suffolk Green Business Grant is funded by West Suffolk Council to help local businesses and organisations reduce their energy use and save money. If you are an eligible business based in West Suffolk you can apply for up-to £1000 to fund capital works designed to improve your business environmental performance.
Who can apply?
Small and medium sized businesses in West Suffolk, including those based in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Newmarket, Mildenhall, Brandon and the surrounding villages.
Your business can participate in a free environmental audit and the resulting action plan can form part of your application.
There are numerous good-quality providers offering free environmental audits and support.
What will we fund?
The grant will fund a wide variety of measures including:
- • insulating buildings
- • replacing heating controls and lighting
- • installing more energy-efficient alternatives to existing equipment.
You can install any product listed on one of the following approved product lists:
- • The ETL (or Energy Technology Product List, ETPL) is a government-managed list of energy-efficient plants and machinery. It is part of the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) tax scheme for businesses and is available at www.gov.uk/energy-technology-list
- • The Energy Saving Trust’s Recommended Product database is available via Energy Saving Trust
